Big Changes in Wedding World
While we have been isolating during 2010, wedding world has changed. As we are emerging, Kristin
Events is adjusting to so many new opportunities in wedding world. Many of our boutique owner friends have
closed their “real” shops and gone online. Some of my associates have lost or shelved their
wedding businesses. Until this pandemic is under control, many bridal attire
and clothing shops have locked their dressing rooms. Shopping is now online and is delivered to
your home. I tried several online options
(Mercari, ThredUp eBay, Facebook Marketplace, KSL, etc), but I am happiest with
Poshmark. Of course, I also continue to shop my favorite
local and online wholesale suppliers as well.
Recycling is obviously beneficial to the planet so, Poshmark.com (a
social commerce marketplace) is a good partner for me. My other long-time partner is weddingwire.com
where I am a listed as a wedding planner from North Salt Lake, Utah.
To introduce myself, I’m Kristin Smith, a wife, mom and wedding
designer/owner of Kristin Events.
Kristin Events does full-service weddings, but we also have thousands of
items to rent for your event. We have
been doing weddings/events full-time for the past 12 years. In addition to wedding, party and event
planning we also do holiday decorating for companies, clinics and
hospitals. My 2-year apprenticeship was with a creative designer
named Robyn with her trendy, modern style. Our Kristin Events business licensing dates
back to 2011.
My online moniker is kristinweddings, mostly by default. Gmail, Tweeter, Blogger, Poshmark, Venmo seems
to think that’s me, so I just go with the flow. Branding is easy, I do
weddings and my name is Kristin so my brand is on hundreds of wedding
receptions in Utah and surrounding states.
I’m Kristinweddings for most
social media and the government knows me as Kristin Events for business.
My kristinevents.com website is weak, so I’ll use this blog
to pass along info to my wedding community in our blogosphere for those who
share my wedding design passion.
Blogging has been around over a decade, so obviously it’s effective. In Poshmark you sell from your closet. I have two closets, one called “Home” where I
sell my retired wedding inventory items and my other closet "All" sells clothing
& accessories and occasionally wedding attire, if my brides need some
selling assistance. To see my closets,
go to poshmark.com and I’m @kristinweddings (same handle as Twitter). We have added about 20 new items this week at
Poshmark (widget in left sidebar takes you there) and I can keep you updated here
later this week with the new stuff. Stay
Safe!
